Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2018-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Apr 2017

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Racine du Temps comes from 90-year-old vines in Brochon that tend to millerandé; it has a ripe kirsch and raspberry preserve scented bouquet, just a touch of volatility here but nothing to get worried about. The palate is soft on the entry with low acidity compared to others, earthy and savory in style with a touch of white pepper and tobacco surfacing toward the finish. An approachable Gevrey-Chambertin that should drink well for several years, this is a delightful wine.

Blueish again. Very rich – almost soupy. Just lacks a bit of focus. Chewy end. No quite enough core. (JR)
