Tasting notes
The 2018 Savigny-lès-Beaune La Dominode 1er Cru has a clean, precise bouquet that is showing a touch of reduction at the moment, but you can still feel the energy contained within this Savigny. The lightly spiced palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, a chalky texture and a quite persistent finish. Excellent.

One of the highlights of the range this year is the 2018 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru La Dominode (Domaine Louis Jadot), a lovely wine that offers up a deep bouquet of blackberries and cherries mingled with notes of dark chocolate, burning embers and loamy soil. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and succulent, with an ample chassis of powdery tannin, lively acids and a long, penetrating finish.
A slight purple hue in the glass, with darker cherry fruit as well as sweet strawberry. Heady and powerful. Quite bold and rich on the palate, fairly full bodied. Succulent if a little heady. (TP)
About the producer

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
