Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2019-2029, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016

The 2015 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses comes from purchased fruit and was taken from barrel, whereas others were sampled from tank. It has a perfumed, floral bouquet that does not quite deliver the harmony and complexity of Pavelot's top Savignys, though there is an attractive citrus-like element. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent black cherries and raspberry on the entry, sea salt and a pinch of spice thereafter. It leads to a structured finish that exerts a gentle grip with a spicy aftertaste that urges you back for another sip. This is very fine.
