Tasting notes
There's just one large barrel of the 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Lavières, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and penetrating wine evocative of ripe cherries, plums, cassis, raw cocoa and spices. This is one of the most concentrated, youthfully structured communal bottles chez Liger-Belair this year.

The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Lavières, matured in one new 350-liter barrel, was showing just a little reduction, but the pure red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit was clear to see; light cassis aromas percolated through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine structure and good salinity. Fresh and edgy, displaying a nice bitter touch on the finish. I suspect this might be one of the earlier-drinking cuvées from Liger-Belair.
Only in UK and Hong Kong markets, and Alberta. Tiny village lieu-dit on the Vosne side. Tank sample. Just a hint of oak and the fruit is a tad dull. Competent rather than exciting. Acidity marked on the end. (JR)
