Score 89/100 · Drink 2020-2037, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2020

Offering up an attractive bouquet of berry fruit, smoked meats, espresso roast, warm spices and sweet soil tones, the 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Village is medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, with an open and expressive core of fruit, velvety tannins and fine length on the finish. This has turned out very nicely in bottle.

Score 87-89/100 · Drink 2019-2024, Neal Martin, Jan 2019

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Village comes from five different lieux-dits and contains 28% whole bunches. It has quite a strict, linear bouquet, not quite as open and charming as its Chambolle counterpart. The well-balanced palate offers crisp red berry fruit laced with brown spices and a touch of white pepper, nicely balanced if in need of just a little more substance toward the finish.
