Score 86-88/100 · Drink 2022-2030, Neal Martin, Dec 2020

The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Village was completely destemmed. It displays fine intensity on the nose of black cherries, blueberry and touches of wilted rose petal. This has more conviction than some of the Vougeraie’s other Village Crus. The palate is medium-bodied and showing a bit of creamy oak on the entry, but that will be assimilated with time in barrel. Nicely proportioned and quite easygoing, with gentle grip, this Gevrey Village should drink within a year of bottling. Fine.
