Tasting notes
The 2014 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes shows the darker, more structured, mineral-style to Chambolle. Black cherries, currants, smoked earth, and underbrush, as well as some obvious minerality all flow to a structured 2014 that shows more elegance and purity on the palate. It needs time but will keep for two decades.

The 2014 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes has an animated, wild strawberry, briary and cola-tinged bouquet that leaps from the glass. The palate is fresh and vibrant with blueberry and black cherry fruit, orange sorbet and a touch of spice on the long finish. Don't underestimate this premier cru.
Medium red. Musky aromas of spices, minerals, coffee, smoke and tobacco, plus a hint of rare steak; reminded me a bit of Bonnes-Mares. Dusts the palate with flavors of red berries, licorice and smoked meat; still a bit reduced. Finishes with good medicinal reserve and a touch of dryness. Will this show more fruit with additional time in barrel?
