Tasting notes
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District is cut from the same cloth, with lots of green bean and herbal nuances, yet it too has some charm and depth on the palate, with ripe tannins and good overall balance.

The rather herbal, cassis-scented 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon comes awfully close to being vegetal, but to this taster, it steers just clear of bell pepper. It's a classically structured, medium-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, sleek and streamlined on the palate, with silky but firm tannins. Despite spending 21 months in 50% new French oak, the cedar is muted, leaving just echoes of pencil shavings on the tart, lingering finish.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot. Mid ruby/garnet colour. Good honest well-integrated Cabernet nose. Some sweet cassis notes but no excess alcohol. Fine tannins. Appetising wine. (JR)
