Score 90/100 · Drink 2025-2040, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2024
Aromas of cherries, sweet red plums, raw cocoa and spices introduce the 2021 Volnay Village, a medium-bodied, supple and fleshy wine that's suave and seamless, concluding with a saline finish. As readers may remember, this cuvée unites the rich, clay soils of lieux-dits Poisots, Famines and Cros Martin—which bring fat and flesh—with the thinner, whiter soils of Ez Blanches above the Clos de Chênes—that lend the wine its tension and relief.
