Tasting notes
Coming from a tiny 3.4-hectare vineyard and based on 90% Merlot and 5% each Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2020 Château Lecuyer has a great bouquet of cassis, blueberries, iron, and smoked tobacco. Medium to full-bodied and elegant, with remarkable purity and a lively spine of acidity, it's a beautiful Pomerol to enjoy over the coming 15+ years.

The 2020 Lécuyer is a deep, dense Pomerol. Black cherry, chocolate, cloves, licorice and leather add to an impression of gravitas. There is good depth and plenty of intensity that builds into the rich, palate staining finish.
Displaying a deep purple-black color, the 2020 Lécuyer is boldly scented of baked black plums, blueberry compote and chocolate-covered cherries with hints of raisin cake, Chinese five spice and eucalyptus. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers impactful black and blue fruit layers with lots of minerally sparks and a fine-grained texture, finishing long and earthy.
Cask sample. Very spicy nose with dried tobacco leaf and a creamy lactic note. Creamy palate as well, quite sleek and has a distinct bitter note throughout that I really can't get past I am afraid. (AC)
