Tasting notes
Just downslope from Les Combettes. They buy the grapes but also do the work in the vines. Fermentation and malo in oak, 10% new. Cask sample. More marked by stone-dust on the nose than the Dugat-Py Chassagne Morgeot or their Meursault Porusot, less obviously ripe fruited, though no lack of fruit and the concentration of the fruit emerges as the wine opens. There’s a herbal note, too, a suggestion of pea pod. Smooth, deep and finely textured. Elegant and fresh as well as concentrated. Persistent and chalky on the finish. (JH)

Another old-vine cuvée produced from purchased fruit harvested by the Dugat-Py team, the 2023 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Referts delivers aromas of pear, orange oil, nutmeg, white flowers and buttered toast. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's more textural than the Champ Gain, with an unctuous core of fruit and a saline finish.
About the producer
