Tank sample. Warm, ripe, friendly nose but a note of bitter oak on the drying finish. Shame. (JR)

The 2023 Volnay Village comes across as a little reticent on the nose at first, but it opens nicely with subtle floral aspects. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rigid tannins, but it's nicely balanced with gentle grip on its sapid, Pommard-like finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle.
