The Bachelet brothers produced three barrels of the brilliant 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Blanchot-Dessus from this parcel, planted in 1927 right below Le Montrachet. Unwinding in the glass with notes of peach, white currants, toasted nuts, flowers and beeswax, framed by a deft touch of reduction, it's full-bodied, satiny and pure, with a beautifully deep, seamless core of fruit, racy acids and a long, mineral finish.

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Blanchot-Dessus 1er Cru plays with a subtle reduction on the nose. It has good intensity with more complexity than the other Chassagne Premier Crus. The palate is fresh and saline, combining a twist of sour lemon mixed with desiccated orange peel. It's a little short on the finish compared to the 2022, yet it still exudes class.
