Score 87-89/100 · Drink 2026-2036, Neal Martin, Nov 2024

The 2023 Volnay Les Angles 1er Cru, always the first to be picked, offers ripe mulberry and red plum scents on the nose. It's a little smudged compared to its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with a lightly spiced entry and good body, but thickly textured on the finish that needs more grace. This is early drinking.
