Score 92-94/100 · Drink 2028-2054, Neal Martin, Nov 2024

The 2023 Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru comes from two parcels in the hallowed vineyard. Like some of the other Grand Crus, this demands a little coaxing from the glass, but it rewards you with vivacious redcurrant and raspberry fruit, undergrowth, mint and light rose petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a savory opening and moderate depth. There is a little dark chocolate—I suspect from the barrel—toward the finish. Very fine, but maybe the 2022 has a bit more panache.
