The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits-Monts 1er Cru was due for racking and so understandably it is a little sultry on the nose, more introspective than it will be after bottling. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe and succulent dark berry fruit laced with graphite and orange rind. More structured than Les Suchots with more weight toward the finish, this is an sophisticated Petit-Monts that will give 15 to 20 years' drinking pleasure.
