5 star wine - 30 barrels! A lively fresh ruby, animated fresh raspberry, with an airy lift. This really is a thing of beauty, with just the right structure to back up the quality of the fruit. No feeling of dilution, a masterful hand at work. Subtle detail without loss of intensity.
The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Village comes from three lieux-dits. It shows more red fruit on the nose compared to other Village Crus, with the stems a tad more prominent at the moment. Violets emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins that should loosen up during the remainder of élevage. Gentle grip settles in toward the slightly confit-like finish. Fine.
