Score 92-94/100 · Drink 2029-2050, Neal Martin, Nov 2024
The 2023 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, which finished its malo later than others, is a little reticent in this tasting from barrel. Despite coaxing, these aromatics are not coming out to play. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins that frame the licorice-tinged black fruit. Quite sorbet-fresh, it's rather high-toned toward the finish. This is a fine Clos Vougeot, albeit outclassed by their other Grand Crus this year.
