Score 89-91/100 · William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2025

Derived from a small enclave planted with old vines just below Les Arvelets and Les Hervelets, the 2023 Fixin En Combe Roy offers up aromas of red berries, orange zest, spices and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, lively and nicely structured, it's deeper and purer than the generic Fixin.

Tank sample. Mid-pale ruby. Bright red-cherry and strawberry fruit. Zesty, fresh acidity and some moderately rugged tannins on the gums. Not hard tannins but certainly making themselves known. (MH)

The 2023 Fixin En Combe Roy is a super follow-up to the impressive 2022 with such delineation and focus on the nose. This has a surfeit of mineralité and tension, with a mixture of red and black fruit and a touch of blackcurrant pastilles. The palate is sweet and ripe on the entry, like the Village—a Fixin with plenty of sucrosity. Hints of blood orange and tangerine lend a soupçon of exoticism on the finish. Excellent.
