Bright crimson. Pure and direct but not subtle. Just a bit OTT but clearly the initial fruit was excellent. This rather overwhelms the palate now but may well prove itself in the long term. (JR)

The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin La Justice has a similar fruit profile to the Vieilles Vignes, perhaps with a little more intensity. The palate is quite creamy-textured on the opening, with a touch of dark chocolate that tinctures the red fruit. The finish is lightly spiced, missing some structure but maintaining balance. Drink this over the next seven or eight years.
