The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Aux Reignots 1er Cru comes from their parcel planted north to south, unlike the other growers (except those belonging to DRC). This has a complex, mineral-driven bouquet with touches of potpourri that, with aeration, inflect the red berry fruit with a little allspice and bay leaf. The palate is medium-bodied with fine delineation. There is a sense of intensity allied with paradoxical weightlessness and stunning delineation on the very sustained and elegant finish. This is fabulous and way above the 2022 in quality.

Cask sample. Mid ruby. Cor! What a cracker! Super balance. Sweet red fruit (cherries and strawberry). Medium body with elegant, almost invisible acidity and low, powdery tannins. So approachable, charming and just damned impressive. Vibrant and enticing. (MH)
