Score 93-95/100 · Drink 2027-2043, Neal Martin, Nov 2024

The 2023 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru comes from young vines that were brought back into action during the 2021 vintage. This has quite an austere nose at first, with touches of petrichor and lime flower almost reluctantly unfolding in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a bright, citrus-fresh opening. Cooking apple and Anjou pear take over at the midway point, leading to quite an intense finish. Afford this three to four years in bottle.
