Refined and vibrant, combining richness and complexity with a lifted, saline edge. Aromas of ripe citrus, orchard fruit and white flowers mingle with hints of hazelnuts and crushed chalk. Here there is a relatively strong phenolic character (think olive oil nuances) to the aromas of white peach, petrol and citrus confit. The succulent, round and quite seductive medium-bodied flavors do retain good detail on the sneaky long finish that could also use better depth.
About the producer
The Latour family has been growing vines in Burgundy since at least 1731. Their négociant business – today one of the region’s biggest names – was founded in 1797. Still family-owned today, the company owns 48 hectares of vines, 27 of which are Grand Cru, as well as its own cooperage.
