2023 Maranges Croix Moines

The 2023 Maranges Le Croix Moines 1er Cru has a rather rustic, slightly leathery nose that gains clarity in the glass, though it lags a few paces behind the preceding pair of Santenays. The palate is well defined with lightly spiced red fruit and touches of black pepper and sage, cohering nicely toward the finish so that it ends on a positive note.
