More reserved on the nose than the Meursault Chevalières. This is one of those wines that grows through the tasting experience with the peacock’s tail finish the most remarkable aspect. Juicy and very much a Puligny rather than a Meursault, more strict and direct. But it’s certainly promising. Persistent. (JR)

The 2023 Puligny Chalumaux 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet with touches of chalk dust, light apple blossom scents, fine delineation and a little more concentration than the Garenne. The palate is well balanced, fresh and saline with a bright bead of acidity and a pretty, lightly spiced finish. Charming.
