Almost gleefully young and fruity tooty and unformed! Feels like plushy pools of fruit in which the liquorice-stained tannins are splashing away and not really paying attention to doing their grown-up job. It's wickedly delicious right now – so much so that you could forget to take it seriously. But underneath all that rambunctious fruit is structure, grace, depth and length. (TC)

(from 6 different vineyards). A completely different and more deeply pitched nose is comprised by notes of wild dark currant, poached plum and plenty of newly turned earth nuances. The medium-bodied flavors are not especially dense but they possess both good vibrancy and a beguiling texture while delivering good if not truly special persistence on the complex and balanced finale.

Bursting with aromas of blackberries, orange zest, peonies and spices, Fourrier's 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, with a succulent core of fruit, polished tannins and an expansive finish.

The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Village comes from three parcels around the appellation. Its delicate nose unfolds raspberry and wild strawberry hints in the glass, gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is quite edgy and poised, framed by fine tannins. It has good terroir expression and impressive length. This comes recommended—it's better than the 2022.
