Tasting notes
The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has a slightly more "awkward" nose than the regular Village at the moment, more reticent and sultry. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and well-integrated oak, quite sapid and nicely poised on the finish. Give this time and that awkwardness will go.

Different parcels: Au Vellé, Vignes Belles, Les Crais, Aux Etelois, Les Marchais en Combes, Aux Corvées, for a total area of 2.5 ha (6.2 acres). Cask sample. Concentrated mid ruby. Red cherries, strawberries with some undergrowth and earthiness. This shows lots of complexity, and there are flowers too. Showing no excess weight, this is a very fine village-level red burgundy. Long with some delicious creamy oak. (MH)
