Tasting notes
The 2023 Montrachet Grand Cru is broad and dramatic, bursting with aromas of peach, white flowers, honeycomb, nutmeg and vanilla pod. Full-bodied, layered and unctuous, with a fleshy, enveloping core of fruit that's girdled by lively acids, it's a terrific wine that wears its heart on its sleeve.

Seven barrels in 2023. Cask sample. Mid lemon. Immediate lemon and apple transform into deeper, exuberant tropical fruit of pineapple, guava et al. Scintillating, precise acidity. Excellent power and concentration right through the long, persistent palate and finish. Sapid, salty finish. A wine completely apart. (MH)
There are seven barrels of the 2023 Montrachet Grand Cru this vintage, six of which are new (there are none in 2024). There is just a little reduction on the nose, but there's real complexity underneath, with lime, apricot, crushed stone and hints of chai. Powerful and deep, the palate is supremely well balanced with a killer line of acidity that imparts great tension. That acidity keeps this on its toes through the extremely precise finish. Outstanding.
