The 2023 Blagny La Pièce Sous La Bois 1er Cru has an open and expressive bouquet with red berry fruit and a touch of rooibos/bergamot coming through with aeration. The oak is neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit and gentle grip, a little rustic in style toward the finish with modest length. This is perhaps a little conservative compared to the 2022 but will give a decade of drinking pleasure, or possibly more.
