The 2023 Fixin 1er Cru Les Arvelets is pretty and nicely balanced, bursting with aromas of dark berries, plums and blood orange, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and mineral palate.

Cask sample. Mid ruby. A little closed but revealing a medium body, modest fresh acidity and fine, elegant tannins. Just a little reduced and will show more after racking. (MH)
The 2023 Fixin Les Arvelets 1er Cru, raised in around 20% new oak and completely destemmed, presents a very mineral-driven bouquet, with crushed limestone filtering through red berry fruit and a touch of graphite emerging with aeration. The medium-bodied palate offers sapid red berry fruit and gentle grip, with less sucrosity and a bit more grip than the Fixin Village cuvées. It is a little conservative on the finish, but Berthaut mentioned it's due for imminent racking.
