Ripe strawberries and spices with pie crust and forest floor, as well as dried flowers, mushrooms and wet earth. Full-bodied yet agile, balanced and well formed with fine tannins. Savory and juicy. Persistent finish. Tannic and muscular at the end. Seven barrels made. Needs four or five years to come around. Try after 2029.

The 2023 Musigny Grand Cru is exquisite, exhibiting lovely aromas of cherries and plums mingled with rose petals, orange zest and exotic spices. Full-bodied, supple and layered, with an unctuous core of fruit, lively acids and sweet, melting tannins, it's seamless and complete.
A huge density of ruby crimson colour with a fruit that is utterly majestic and totally true to Musigny. The glorious dark raspberry fruit fills the middle palate in a way that the Amoureuses did not quite manage, and with an easily adequate structure of refined tannins. Such a velvet coating. This will stay in my mouth for as long as it takes to hurry on to my next appointment. Bravo!
