2023 Morey St Denis 1er Cru Les Monts Luisants

This is the inaugural vintage of this new négoce wine, coming from a terroir now better known for its whites (with Ponsot’s Aligoté and Dujac’s Chardonnay). Nicole Lamarche, however, produces a red that has all the hallmarks of her style – gently coloured, with a pure nose offering white florals and juicy red-berry fruit laced with spice and specifically white pepper. On the palate, it’s fresh and bright – with pleasingly sharp acidity, driven by crunchy red fruit, with maybe even a hint of blood orange towards the finish. Long and very pure.
