Sweet spot Outstanding - Enough wood to merit mentioning frames ripe aromas of lemon confit and white orchard fruit along with a hint of jasmine tea. There is a lovely, indeed seductive, texture to the powerful yet refined medium weight flavors that deliver excellent length on the lightly stony and balanced finale. This is terrific and very much built to repay extended keeping. Drink 2033+

The 2023 Meursault Les Gouttes d’Or 1er Cru offers all the qualities that make Henri Boillot’s wines so attractive. Floral and intensely mineral, with striking textural depth, the 2023 is wonderfully complete. Bright saline notes run through a core of lemon, chamomile, dried flowers and spice. A kiss of French oak frames the sustained, resonant finish.

Based in Meursault and farming some of the finest vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, Henri Boillot is a leading address in Burgundy. He crafts fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but the estate is best known for its flagship monopole vineyard, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère.
