Drink 2015-2018, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Jun 2015

The 2013 Pommard 1er Cru les Epenots has a tight-lipped bouquet at the moment that’s not giving anything away. The palate is more expressive with tart cherry fruit and cranberry, gassy at the moment so I will reserve judgement until later.

(vinified with one-third whole clusters): Full, deep red. Youthfully clenched aromas of dark raspberry and underbrush. Juicy and tightly wound, offering excellent inner-mouth tension to the berry and spice flavors. Finishes bright and saline, with a strong tannic spine and piquant peppery lift from the stems.
