Score 89-92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Bright medium ruby. Spicy aromas of blackberry, licorice and bitter chocolate. Sweet and aromatic in the mouth; even larger and broader than the Vieilles Vignes. Plenty of chocolatey oak showing today. A distinctly primary, fruit-driven style of Cornas - not at all rustic and gamey. Finishes with firm, noble tannins and excellent length, with the chocolate note carrying through. Voge does not plan to bottle this until December of 2003.
