Full bottle 1,359 g. Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. Dried for over four months, very slowly, very gently. Pressed and then put in concrete tanks. Spontaneous fermentation in concrete tanks and then aged in oak barrels. The 2019 Is not yet released (will be released in June/July). This smells extraordinarily fresh – masses of ripe, red and black berries on the nose, not remotely raisined or jammy. Some allspice and anise. Coffee and cherries. A little hint of uncut cigar and tobacco leaf, but the signature of this wine (the Bonomo autograph) is its soaring freshness and purity. (TC)

The 2019 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Tenuta Lena di Mezzo is understated, with a dusty blend of dried flowers and cedar shavings accentuated by dried black cherries. This is round and soothing, with ripe red and blue fruits complicated by a tactile mineral tinge. It finishes fresh with medium length, leaving bitter hints of licorice to linger.
