(a blend of four blocks): Healthy medium red. Pure aromas and flavors of red berries, iron and fresh blood. Juicy and intense, showing good Fixin character without the harder tannins that can plague this appellation's wines. This was slated to be racked and bottled in January, considerably earlier than her father used to finish this wine.

The 2014 Fixin Villages, which comes from four small parcels and underwent malolactic in concrete vat, has a well defined, wild strawberry and maraschino bouquet that gently unfolds in the glass. I like the purity and elegance here. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp chalky tannin, and it is quite saline in the mouth with a precise, almost Morey-Saint-Denis like finish that just needs a little more length.
