Tasting notes
The 2018 Tour des Termes has quite a punchy bouquet featuring upfront brambly red berry fruit, mint and sage aromas, well defined if not terribly complex. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fresh and grippy, leading to a dense, charcoal-tinged finish that lingers. It is quite backward but I admire its cohesion and focus, so just afford it 2–3 years in bottle. Tasted twice with consistent notes.

Slightly earthy and reductive, the 2018 Château Tour Des Termes opens up with air and has a dark, smoky core of fruit as well as a medium to full-bodied, rich, chewy style on the palate.
The 2018 Tour de Termes is bold, inky and super-expressive. Crème de cassis, lavender, spice and menthol all meld together in this decidedly juicy Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois. Tour des Termes is not terribly complex, but it more than makes up for that with its open-knit personality and sheer allure. The 2018 has come together beautifully over the last two years.
Cru bourgeois supérieur. 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot. Bright, dark fruit with a certain purity of expression. Merlot lends a touch of sweetness to the palate but a line of freshness lingers behind. Juicy with a firm finish. Alcohol shows. (JL)
