Glass-staining ruby. Vibrant spice- and mineral-accented red and dark fruits on the fragrant nose. Silky, palate-staining red fruit compote and floral pastille flavors are complicated by notes of black tea, cracked pepper and bitter chocolate. Sweet, pliant tannins add gentle grip to the long, incisive finish, which strongly echoes the floral and mineral notes.

(100% syrah; aged in 100% new barriques): Dark purple. Potent aromas of blackberry liqueur, licorice and floral oils are complicated by a peppery note and a hint of vanillin oak. Dense, round and seamless on the palate, showing a suave, velvety texture to its flavors of dark berry compote and cola. The long, sweet finish features impressive energy, lush tannins and an exotic floral pastille flourish.
