Tasting notes
The 2019 Volnay 1er Cru Frémiets Clos de la Rougeotte mingles aromas of cassis and plums with hints of dark chocolate, sweet soil tones and coniferous forest in a complex bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, layered and precise, it's long and mineral, with real elegance and precision.

The 2019 Volnay Fremiets Clos de la Rougotte 1er Cru is almost a monopole (denied by a few vines belonging to Henri Boillot), although Bouchard Père are the only ones permitted to use the full title. It has a lovely bouquet of cassis-tinged red fruit, floral and well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannins and a fine bead of acidity. A gentle Volnay with admirable mineralité coming through on the finish. Excellent.
