The 2015 Petit Faurie de Soutard is laced with the essence of blackberry jam, dark chocolate, espresso, licorice and new oak. Dark, sumptuous and inviting, the 2015 offers fine balance in an intense, full-throttle style that will appeal most to readers who like rich, extravagant wines.
The 2015 Petit Faurie Soutard has a clean and pure bouquet with lifted black cherry and blueberry fruit that appear well-defined and in sync with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of sweet tannin, a lot of extract here leading to a slightly cloying finish that needs to muster more freshness, more backbone. This is an all-out sexy Saint Émilion, but it needs to back that up with more sophistication.
