Tasting notes
The 2018 Cadet-Bon has a rather ordinary nose that is missing intensity and personality. The palate is marked by aggressive tannins and sharp acidity, though at least it does begin to cohere toward the finish. Tasted twice.

Ripe red and black fruits, classy oak, truffle, and leafy herbs notes all emerge from the 2018 Château Cadet-Bon. Medium-bodied, it has an elegant texture, nicely integrated tannins and acidity, and a great finish. A blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc, it fades slightly on the finish, but it has wonderful purity of fruit, I like its balance, and it should evolve nicely for 10-15 years.
The 2018 Cadet-Bon is a very pretty and expressive wine. Cabernet Franc accents perk up a core of dark fruit in a stylish, mid-weight Saint-Émilion that has so much to offer. Cedar, mocha, licorice, spice and new leather build into the silky, nuanced finish. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.
