The 1962 Malartic Lagravière is dry and a little mealy on the nose with light mulchy and fungal scents, bereft of counterbalancing fruit. This is not as clean as I would have liked. The palate is medium-bodied with dry, slightly ossified tannins and a hollow finish. This was never a great era for this Pessac-Léognan, and this 1962 attests to that. Tasted at the Académie du Vin dinner in Bordeaux.
