The 2021 Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso Cossut entices with a whiff of sweet spice and violet pastille, complicated by crushed ashen stones and nuances of sage. It is silken in form, elegant and refined, with a wave of cooling acidity and a core of spicy wild berry fruits that take on a peppery edginess toward the close. It's staining, structured and long, leaving a pleasantly chewy saturation and a hint of clove that pinches at the cheek. Enzo Pontoni managed to encapsulate both power and finesse in this gorgeous Refosco.
