The 2023 Petit Chablis has notes of wet pavement on the nose. It's simple but effective. The palate is well balanced, with a touch of menthol on the entry. This has good depth and a hint of peppermint on the finish. Enjoy this over the next five years.

Derived from vines planted in 2010, just above the grands crus, Raveneau's 2023 Petit Chablis is showing very well, wafting from the glass with notes of pear, peach and orange zest. Textural and more fruit-driven in the context of the other wines in the range, it’s medium to full-bodied, bright and precise, concluding with a delicately chalky finish.

Ripe pear aromas edged with a suggestion of hawthorn flowers and spice enliven the nose of this surprisingly complete Petit Chablis. The texture is silky and there is enough acidity to reinforce the wine's fresh appeal. The grapes are from a single parcel replanted in 2010 at the top of the valley of Vaudesir; 2014 was the first vintage. This wine will be delightful drinking on release; it is not a wine for ageing.

The 2023 Petit Chablis has a pretty bouquet, maybe not quite as charming as the preceding vintage, but well-defined with light chalky scents. The palate is well detailed with a malic entry, quite linear in style with a saline finish. Fine.
