Tasting notes
The 2020 Corton Les Renardes Grand Cru has an understated nose, well-defined with brambly red fruit, rose petals and light sous-bois scents. The oak is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, slightly bitter in the mouth, missing just a little weight at the back end, though I appreciate the lingering peppery, leafy aftertaste. Give this a year in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2020 Corton Les Renardes Grand Cru is superb, bursting with aromas of cherries, red berries, sweet spices, bergamot and peonies. Full-bodied, velvety and seamless, it's layered and vibrant, with a deep core of fruit that almost entirely conceals its structuring chassis of ripe, powdery tannin, concluding with a long, saline finish.
The 2020 Corton Les Renardes Grand Cru showed just a little reduction on the nose, but opens with aeration to reveal vivacious red fruit, dessicated orange peel and floral scents, more exuberance than the Les Maréchaudes. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins. Lovely symmetry and poise from start to finish with a precise and quite persistent finish. Superb.
