Score 96/100 · Drink 2028-2060, Neal Martin, Dec 2023

The 2019 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a sublime nose. It is still backward and a bit reticent at the moment, but it is beautifully-defined and focused, exhibiting pure black fruit and traces of iris and violet flowers. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and perfectly judged acidity. Harmonious and focused with heart-stopping purity toward the finish, this is both delicious and intellectual—a fabulous Grand Cru from Château de Marsannay. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
