Score 94/100 · Drink 2027-2033, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Jun 2025

The wine they consider more classical in the range is the 2022 La Viña de Amalio, a single-vineyard Tempranillo from a plot planted in 1964 on sandy soils that deliver wines with energy and subtleness. It matured in new, second- and third-use French oak barrels for 20 months. This is the one that feels very toasty and marked by the oak, and it's going to need time in bottle to absorb it. But it has the stuffing and balance to do so. So, give it some patience. All of the reds have a similar profile of ripeness and have around 14.5% alcohol, this one too. 2,071 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2024.
