Tasting notes
Outstanding - A slightly more deeply pitched, and more floral-suffused, nose reflects notes of poached plum, anise, lilac and cool exotic tea. The even finer textured middleweight plus flavors exude notably more minerality on the mildly austere, decidedly firm and strikingly long finale. This is terrific and very much worth checking out as well.

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru is just a little more backward and tertiary on the nose than Mugnier's other cuvées. Touches of ceps and mulch percolate through the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a slight vegetal edge on the entry that comes as a surprise. It has modest depth but I actually prefer the purity of the Chambolle Village on the finish.
The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées exhibits aromas of sweet berries and plums mingled with notions of orange peel, potpourri and smoked meats. Medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, with a deep core of fruit and a suave, seamless profile, it concludes with a sapid, discreetly carnal finish.
