Tasting notes
The McCutcheon vineyard is 'up the hill'. Mix of clone 667 and clone MV6. Hand-picked 22 March to 10 April 2022, yields 2.6 t/ha. Each parcel was cold-soaked for five days before spontaneous fermentation in a combination of concrete and stainless steel. Eight months in new (25%) and old oak, barriques and puncheons. Filtered and bottled 27 June 2023. TA 5.9 g/l, pH 3.55. A darling of a wine weaving in and out of its heady perfume and almost indecently ripe fruit. So sweet, so many roses, rose hips and delicate curlicues of tannins. Strawberries and roses and cassia and cardamom. The tannins dance but they hold a firm silk ribbon drawstring on the finish. Even the hardest heart could not resist this, surely? (TC)

Cranberry, fragrant, very finely tannic. Fine and layered with youthful fruit and milk chocolate. Still an infant, but with the fineness of fruit that makes great promises. (RH)
